In December 2018, Rexel GmbH & Co KG moved into an entire floor of the newly built NEWTON in Munich's Westend district. Together with the client, we developed an intuitive media concept for the 25 meeting rooms, which fits perfectly into the flexible open space environment

 

The Crestron Mercury All-In-One conference system offers a very convenient solution for this project. The Mercury combines almost all customer requirements in one device. It enables audio and video conferencing, BYOD multimedia presentations and location-independent web collaboration. Users can easily connect to the system via Wi-Fi, the Crestron Air Media app or HDMI cable and view, share and edit their content on the displays or projectors.

 

You connect to the media technology and it just works. For all users. Both for employees and external users. Even with Apple products!

The Barco ClickShare wireless presentation system was installed in the creative room and in the smaller presentation rooms. Here, users can stream their presentations to the displays or projectors at the touch of a button. Small Logitech webcams were installed on the presentation displays for video conferencing functionality. The Crestron microphone extensions in the larger meeting rooms contribute to better speech intelligibility. In addition, there are Samsung Flip touch displays on rollers in the collaboration rooms. With the help of Miracast/Intel WiDi technology, the digital flipcharts can be used easily in modern meetings.

Both the Crestron Mercury and the Joan e-Ink Türdisplays are integrated into the IT system architecture via Microsoft Exchange, so that all employees can book and manage the corresponding rooms for their meetings from their workstations.
Ad-hoc meetings can also be booked directly via the Türdisplay using touch.
